The wedding was outdoors - the rain held off nicely - and the weather was actually very reminiscent of our wedding day. The actual ceremony was pretty non-traditional and very cute! Here are some of the more unique elements:
- guests were invited to grab a beer and drink during the ceremony
- the groom and best-man walked up the aisle to "Walk This Way" by Run DMC & Aerosmith...this elicited several laughs from the guests
- the bride was driven to the aisle in an old black car driven by her father. They got out, and he walked her the rest of the way
- guests were asked to make a large circle around the bride and groom in an open field because they hired a pilot to do a fly-over of the reception site and snap a group shot
It was a very casual, laid-back event; until the reception...
We were getting ready to head back to Ross and Ashley's place, when my mother-in-law couldn't find her cute little Coach bag. We all went back to the table to try to locate it - with no luck. We had to ask the DJ to turn on the lights and ask the guests to help look - still nothing. They attempted to call the cell-phone...and it went right to voicemail...
Sooo...it appears as though someone with sticky fingers had their eye on the cute Coach bag. SERIOUSLY??? At a wedding where the guest list was relatively small and consisted of family and very close friends?? Maybe someone just picked it up by mistake (or maybe not). Needless to say, that put a damper on the rest of the evening.
Here are some of the shots before all that drama happened...
One good thing about the weather is that the overcast skies provided very nice lighting:

Icing off the evening with a cupcake (get it...icing?):
Pretty much the only thing Aidan chose to eat all evening - he refused to eat dinner:
